$40 flights: Tigerair launches seat sale at noon today
BUDGET airline Tigerair is launching a 40% off sale at noon today, with flights starting from just $39.95.
The cheapest flights on offer are between Sydney and the Gold Coast.
While Mackay is waiting for direct flights to Melbourne and Sydney, residents can still take advantage of flights to Sydney at just $64.95 one way from Whitsunday Coast Airport, which is a one-hour drive north to Proserpine.
Or you could drive a little further north and take in a North Queensland Cowboys home game before hopping aboard a cheap Melbourne trip at just $88.95 from Townsville.
The sale, which begins at midday today (AEST), provides thousands of fares to and from many popular Australian leisure destinations such as Sydney, Gold Coast, Cairns, Perth, Hobart, Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane, Coffs Harbour, Whitsunday Coast, Townsville and Canberra.
Tigerair's Head of Communications Vanessa Regan said: "We're pleased to be able to provide our customers with consistently great value fares to travel throughout our domestic network.
"With one-way fares starting from under $40*, it's a great way to secure an affordable getaway for a mid-year break or to escape the cold down south."
The sale starts today and runs until midday (AEST) Thursday April 19, or until sold out. Bargain hunters are urged to get in quick to avoid disappointment.
