A tourist has been stung by an irukandji jellyfish
A FRENCH female tourist was stung by an irukandji jellyfish today.
The woman was airlifted from where she was stung in the Whitsundays to Mackay Base Hospital for further treatment, the reports said.
It's unclear where the woman was stung.
Earlier in the day the RACQ CQ Rescue team tweeted they were on their way to a suspected jellyfish sting and that they also transferred a woman who suffered a snake bite in Proserpine.
