‘There’s nothing romantic there’
BACHELOR in Paradise's Apollo Jackson admits the show was an "absolute rollercoaster of emotion", and that despite leaving it as part of a couple, he and Simone Ormesher are no longer together.
"We gave it a go, but it didn't work out, and the physical distance between us didn't help," Jackson said.
"We've been in contact with each other, but there's nothing romantic."
The Queensland singer and magician, who was involved in a love triangle between Ormesher and fellow contestant Elora Murger, said during filming he had felt a lot of pressure to do the right thing by both women.
"I'm very aware of people's feelings, and I think both girls are amazing," he said. "But it's very overwhelming to be put in a situation where everything is heightened, and you're spending all day in each other's presence like that.
"You're trying to get to know everyone, but you're also trying to build relationships with people, and the last thing you want is for someone else to swoop in and take them away.
"I can 100 per cent see where Simone was coming from, but I also travel a lot for work, and I am out there spending time with performers and dancers and I need to have trust from the person I am with, that they are going to be okay with that."
Since leaving the show, Jackson said he'd also been in contact with Murger.
"We've touched base," he said.
