Boy, 9, recovering after horror smash near Dalby
A BOY injured in a horrific crash near Dalby remains in hospital after the car he was travelling in slammed into a tree.
Investigations are continuing into the cause of the crash which happened about 11.20am on Monday on the Moonie Hwy.
Five people, including four children and a woman aged her late 20s, were in the car.
A nine-year-old boy sitting in the front passenger seat had to be cut from the car and was airlifted to Lady Cilento Children's Hospital in a serious condition, which is improving.
His mother and another boy, 2, were taken to Dalby Hospital but were airlifted by Rescue 500 to Princess Alexandra Hospital and Lady Cilento Children's Hospital respectively.
Another toddler was uninjured and a young girl was treated for abdominal pain at Dalby Hospital and both are now in the care of family.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating and no charges have yet been laid as police appeal for witnesses to come forward.
