Coronavirus shutdown: What’s open and closed in Bowen

UNDER strict new government restrictions for places people can gather, many Bowen eateries are now offering takeaway only while a couple of businesses have closed altogether.

From midday today, licensed areas of hotels and pubs will be closed. That does not include bottle shops.

Entertainment venues, cinemas, casinos and nightclubs will also close, while restaurants and cafes will be restricted to takeaway or home delivery only.

Indoor sporting venues, gyms, churches and places of worship will also close, and enclosed spaces for funerals and other similar events will have to follow the strict four square metre rule.

Home takeaway deliveries will continue as normal.

In Bowen, the IGA and Woolworths supermarkets are both open, though delivery services for both are currently unavailable.

Most restaurants and cafes around Bowen have quickly responded to the update and a list of venues offering takeaway or deliveries is below.
