Fraser Coast mum confirmed as Gold Lotto millionaire
A YOUNG Pialba mum has been confirmed as the region's mystery Saturday Gold Lotto millionaire.
The happy and overwhelmed Pialba mum, who wished to remain anonymous, admitted she knew she was the region's mystery Saturday Gold Lotto millionaire since Monday morning, but needed time to digest the life-changing news before claiming her prize.
Her unregistered entry was one of 15 division one winning entries across Australia in Saturday Gold Lotto's $20 Million Superdraw, draw 3827 on 24 March 2018.
Each entry won the division one prize of $1,333,333.34.
Speaking to a Golden Casket official this morning to claim her prize, the young mum admitted the news hadn't really sunk in yet.
"I just keep getting goose bumps!" she exclaimed.
"We found out yesterday morning! It's just very, very bizarre, I checked the ticket on the app and I thought the app had a glitch.
"And then we saw on the local news that someone from Hervey Bay had won, so then we thought 'maybe it is true?'
"I couldn't concentrate at all yesterday. It's very surreal. To be quite honest, it still feels like a dream, totally bizarre."
She said she had spent the past 24 hours happily contemplating what the win could mean for her and her family.
"I couldn't sleep much last night let's put it that way!" she laughed.
"I don't know how seniors do it, I don't know how they win and still have their hearts!
"It's just unreal. My hubby and I keep saying 'why us?'
"I guess these things are meant to happen. It's just absolutely amazing for our family.
"I don't think I'll be sleeping for the next four weeks!"
The Lucky Charm Hervey Bay owner Greg Baartz said the outlet had been busy with customers coming in to check their entries.
"Everyone's been coming forward asking if it's they're the one," he said.
"It's just beautiful that the winner's been found. We wish them all the very best.
"We can't wait to sell another division one winning ticket!"
