Huge junior cricket season celebrated with trophies galore
On Friday afternoon the end of season presentation went off without the usual summer storm.
On a dry pitch the children and parents were able to take to the fields for their annual parent versus children games.
After a good hit out in all grades, followed by a tasty feed, the presentations got under way.
Proserpine Junior Cricket president Shane Knight started the proceedings by commenting on how the club has thrived this season and risen to a new height.
With more than 130 children participating, things are looking strong in all levels.
Our problem now is how to fit all the players on to fields to run games at the same time, which is a great problem to have.

Our junior blasters, aged five to eight, had over 25 participants and master blasters were able to put 30 children in two games each week.
A massive thanks goes to Jack Dwyer and Llyod Fox who have run these groups over the season.
Girls cricket has taken off this season with a couple of girls-only programs being run by Mel Dwyer throughout the season.
Numbers this season reached 30 girls (350 per cent increase from last season) competing and learning skills.
We look forward to seeing this continue next season.
Junior cricket had a lot going on too.
In our Friday fixtures our games were full and overflowing with players in the Under-13s and a good number turning up each week for the Under-17s.
We had our intertown competitions and our Under-17 team took out the Fox Williams Shield and our Under-13s just went down in the Island Gateway Shield.

This season we had two teams compete in the Mackay Cricket Association Junior Competition.
Our Under-13s finished third and our Under-14s were runners-up.
They are both looking forward to returning next season to try and take out the top prize.
Representative cricket has been strong.
Nine children represented the club in the Mackay/Whitsunday teams to compete at zone and state carnivals along with two representing in the Under-18 NQ Alliance and one in the Under-21s.
Twelve children represented Mackay in the Hans Mark Shield.
Schoolboys cricket was also well represented with the club having eight players in the Under-12s team to compete at the NQ trials and one to represent in the Under-19s NQ team to compete at the state carnival.
Last month we held our first high-performance program in the Whitsundays and we look forward to continuing this again next season with the help of Mackay and Queensland cricket.
The club is extremely proud of the welcoming environment that has been created and thank the volunteers for their tireless efforts to deliver such a great product.
