Is this the Navy SEAL who killed Osama bin Laden?
THE Navy SEAL who shot Osama bin Laden has been released by the media, with the shooter named as SEAL Team Six member Rob O'Neill, 38.
The American soldier is to give a full interview to Fox News later this month, formally waiving his anonymity.
But British tabloid the Daily Mail has revealed him as the 16-year veteran with the US Navy.
O'Neill's father Tom told the Daily Mail the family has no fear that they may have made themselves targets.
"People are asking if we are worried that ISIS will come and get us because Rob is going public," he said.
"I say I'll paint a big target on my front door and say come and get us."
O'Neill received huge praise for killing bin Laden in mid-2011, which he said was the result of three close-range shots to the forehead.
It is understood he decided to speak out after the military attempts to restrict some of his benefits after he decided to retire from the Navy four years before notching up 20 years of service.
Mr O'Neill also works as a professional speaker, delivering a speech titled, "Never Quit: The Story of a Life Built on Successful Missions".
