Roads still closed after storms cause flash flooding

ROADS are still closed in the Mackay-Whitsunday region after severe thunderstorms caused flash flooding over the past two days, according to RACQ.

The motoring body lists eight roads as closed, but some may have reopened due to a break in the wild weather.

However, caution is advised. Remember, if it's flooded, forget it.

At least three people and a dog were rescued from the roof of a car stuck in floodwater at Sandy Creek on Marian-Eton Road on Wednesday night.
