School child injured in crash

A YOUNG primary school child was taken to hospital after a crash in Sarina last night.

The girl and a woman in her 40 were treated on the scene by paramedics before being transported to Mackay Base for further care.

The child had sustained chest and abdominal pain, while the woman was suffering fro a suspected spinal injury according to information provided by the QAS.

A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson said paramedics attended Brooks Road in Sarina at 7.53pm after reports of a two vehicle crash.

No further information was provided.
