Teens missing from Gold Coast have been found in Gympie

MONDAY 1.23PM: TWO teenage girls from the Gold Coast have been found in Gympie.

Holly Goodwin, 14 and Emma Howarth, 13, were last seen at Emma's Mudgeeraba home at 7pm Thursday, a police spokesman said.

He said they had been found in the Gympie area and taken to police by a member of the public about 1pm.

"Both are safe and well.

"We thank the media and the public for their assistance," the spokesman said.

One of their mothers announced the good news on Facebook.

"Our little girls have been found," she reportedly said.

But she said she did not yet know when the parents would be re-united with the girls.

"Thank you to everyone who has been out there looking for them," she said.

The girls were at Gympie police station this afternoon talking to members of the Gympie police Child Protection Unit.

MONDAY 1.20PM: Reports are circling Twitter that the two teenage girls who went missing from the Gold Coast on Thursday have been found.

Reports indicate one of the girls' mother has thanked the community for helping track down the pair who were last seen at 7pm Thursday night.

Holly Goodwin, aged 14, and Emma Howarth, aged 13, went missing from Emma's home at Mudgeeraba. They were last seen by family about 7pm on Thursday, July 2.

The girls have not spoken to family or friends since Thursday and police have concerns for their safety as this is out of character.

It is believed the girls are still together however their whereabouts and clothing are unknown.

Holly is described as of Caucasian appearance, slim build, blonde hair and about 165cm.

Emma is described as of Caucasian appearance, slim build, brown hair and about 165cm.
