Restaurant with Coral Sea views relaunches in Airlie Beach
DINING while looking out over the Coral Sea is a special experience and one Whitsunday residents relish.
Tides Restaurant was relaunched under new management, on Thursday, and is hoping to lure locals with its great food, great ocean views and relaxed ambience.
Tides Restaurant is part of Club Wyndham, Airlie Beach, formerly Peppers Resort.
Club Wyndham's parent company took over the reins last year and have been working hard behind the scenes on enhancing the resort.
Thursday's relaunch of Tide's Restaurant was all about getting the message out there that it is a new team at the helm.
"There is a new management team, a new company and new owners in place - we want to get the message out there that we are a whole new team," Club Wyndham Airlie Beach general manager Malik Hayat said.
"We want locals to know we will look after them and are interested in building a relationship with them."
The Tides Menu offers dishes at different price points to suit everyone.
"We want to target both sides of what people want, with a range or prices," Mr Hayat said.
"Our burger and nachos, on the all-day menu, are very affordable at $17, and we have chef specials, steak and chicken breast on the dinner menu."
A great new addition to the menu is chicken curry, Indian style, served with rice and naan bread. There is also fish and chips, prawns, salads and a Tides Toastie, for those who fancy a snack, as well as a kids' menu.
Desserts include comfort-food favourites such as sticky date pudding and chocolate brownie with orange marmalade ice cream.
Tides Restaurant is open from Tuesday to Saturday currently and is offering local residents a 10 per cent discount off food, any time of day.
The restaurant will also be introducing a loyalty card, offering a 15 per cent discount, at a cost of $25 per person for 12 months.
Wyndham Destinations is the world's largest vacation ownership, exchange and rental company and has a majority freehold share in the 105-room resort, which will service more than 60,000 of its timeshare owners.
The company has 59 strata apartments under its control, with the rest held in private ownership.
The property overlooks the Whitsunday Passage and features an open-air restaurant and bar, infinity pool and spa, gym, conference facilities and undercover parking.
