UPDATE: Takura residents issued with fire warning

UPDATE 4.30PM:

TAKURA residents have been issued with a warning to 'stay informed' about a bushfire.  

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokeswoman said there were currently 10 crews at the scene near Gear Rd.

She said the blaze was travelling in a north-westerly direction towards Beelbi Creek.  

Locals are advised to "keep up to date and decide what actions you will take if the situation changes".  

Firefighters and water-bombing aircraft are working to contain the blaze.  

People in the area will be affected by smoke, which will reduce visibility and air quality.  

Properties are not under direct threat at this time.  

Fire crews are also continuing to manage another fire in the region, at Aldershot.  

The blaze, which is north of the junction of Lenthall Stt and Aldershot St, has been contained and there is no threat to property at this time.   

Smoke may affect the area. 

UPDATE: A second fire is now burning on the Fraser Coast.

The blaze broke out near the Torbanlea-Pialba Rd and Gear Rd at Takura, travelling towards Beelbi Creek.

The fire started about 1.15pm.

Eight crews are currently on scene.

Properties are not currently under threat.

EARLIER: A fire has broken out near Aldershot, causing a smoke hazard on the Bruce Highway.

According to an alert from Queensland Fire and Emergency Services, the fire started about 10.10am, about one kilometre north of the junction of Lenthall St and Aldershot St.

Fourteen crews are currently at the scene with another on route.

People in the area will be affected by smoke, including motorists on the Bruce Highway.

There will be reduced visibility and air quality.

Properties are not under direct threat at this time.
