Whitsundays to welcome state cabinet
THEY make the decisions that shape the fate of our state and now they're coming to the Whitsundays.
A date and time are yet to be set, but the state cabinet will be coming to town following a decision made in today's sitting of parliament.
Whitsunday MP Jason Costigan has used the announcement to slam Minister for Tourism Kate Jones, claiming she has dropped the ball in not making regular stops in the tourism hot spot of the Whitsundays.
"The Whitsundays is known in the industry as one of the 'big five' in terms of destinations in Queensland but looking at the minister's form, you wouldn't know it," he said.
"Does she hate the Whitsundays?
"You really have to ask the question because she has been to the Whitsundays just once (since) being appointed by the Premier, which is insulting to say the least.
"As I have said before and will say again; Kate Jones, where the bloody hell are you?"
